September Sunshine makes for a Beautiful Country Wedding in Madehurst

Matt and Megan were married in early September. Late enough to avoid the summer heatwave, but we still enjoyed a lovely warm day. The preparation for the wedding was a little unusual. Matt and Megan are based in Australia, so all correspondence was through email and was only able to finally meet them a couple of days before the wedding.

I do prefer to do a site meeting with a my weddings as it gives us an opportunity to go through ideas on sight and see how practical they are and how long they will take to do. If the wedding is in a marquee this often means a quick meeting just before the wedding. Just to check that what you planned in an empty field will still work once the marquee is up. It also helps to meet couples as much as possible before the wedding so they comfortable with you. It always shows in the pictures.

Madehurst is little more than a hamlet just outside of Arundel. There is just the church, the cricket club and a few houses nestled at the foot of the South Downs. It feels almost untouched by the modern world and going there is almost like going back in time. A really beautiful setting for a wedding. A band entertained the guests in the evening and they was a firework display.
